Kata - Kanku Sho
English - Viewing the sky; Small
Kanku Sho is the minor form of the two katas which evolved from the kata Kushanku. A very dynamic kata, it contains two challenging spinning jumps, and repeated changes of rhythm with alternating fast and slow movements.
There is some variation on the timing of the second kiai. In the club we kiai after the third of the opening oi-zukis, and then on the very last punch of the kata.
