As normal, Kelsey Kerridge Sports Hall will be closed on the two upcoming Bank Holiday Mondays, 25th April and 2nd May, so there will be no training on those dates. Normal training will resume on 9th May.
Descriptions of Ippon and Jiyu-Ippon Kumite set defences are now available in the syllabus section. Students should find these useful when learning these.
The dates for events in 2011 have been added to the Google Calendars. These include dates for gradings, the SKA Open Day and SKA Kata Courses.
There will be another extra training session on Monday 7th February. Following the normal training at Kelsey Kerridge, there will be an hour from 9.30 to 10.30 focussing on the performance and applications of the kata Bassai Dai. This is a pivotal kata, and will be a very useful session.
There are now quizzes available for each category of terminology, available from the terminology page. The quiz is randomised - never the same quiz twice! This is of particular interest to those studying for their Black Belt, who will need to know all of these.
There will be no training over the Christmas period, but we expect to see you bright eyed, bushy tailed, and ready to work off those mince pies in January. Details of the last training before Christmas and the first in the New Year are here.

We've been informed by Kelsey Kerridge that due to essential maintenance work, we will be unable to train there on Monday 13th December. Training will be as normal the following Monday, 20th December.
There will be an extra training session at Kelsey Kerridge Sports Hall on Monday 29th November, running from 9.30-10.30 (after the normal class). This will cover the performance and applications of the kata Heian Godan. The cost will be £26, to be split between those attending.
