GUARDIAN GIRLS KARATE

Guardian Girls Karate is a worldwide social initiative that aims to promote gender equality and women's empowerment to defend themselves from all forms of Gender-Based Violence through Karate training.

Created by UNFPA, the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency, the Koyamada International Foundation (KIF) and the World Karate Federation (WKF), the Guardian Girls Karate programme is a far-reaching initiative aiming to promote gender equality and empower women and girls through Karate.

First Edition of Guardian Girls Karate Course in Germany

The first training course of the Guardian Girls Karate Programme in Germany took place from March 13 to the 17 in the city of Sögel, led by WKF-certified instructor, Ulrike Maass. The event was organised by the German Karate Federation with the collaboration of the World Karate Federation (WKF).

Following the launch of the Guardian Girls Karate Project in Los Angeles in 2022 and a successful activity there in 2023, a karate seminar specially designed for women’s self-defence took place on March 1 in New York City, organised by the USA Karate Federation, with the collaboration of the World Karate Federation (WKF).
